چکیده

A combination of fractographic and metallographic analysis during tensile tests over the temperature ranging from 20 °C to 750 were carried out investigate fracture behaviors deformation modes so as clarify dependence mechanical properties AISI 316 austenitic stainless steel. Planar slip mode was observed at due a relatively low SFE (stacking fault energies). Pronounced planar characteristics in range 350–550 °C, resultant localized led formation shear bands. The dislocation cross-slip much easier above 550 leading cell/subgrain structures. preferential microvoid initiation subsequent anisotropic growth behavior bands large-size shallow dimples on surfaces °C. However, tended elongate along direction necking region resulting small-size deep dimples. localization reduced uniform ability accelerated process bands, plateau elongation total higher capability tolerate through sustained resulted significant increase

The adhesion of hot-filament CVD diamond films on AISI type 316 austenitic stainless steel

Steel ball indentation and scratch adhesion testing of hot filament chemical vapour deposited diamond films onto AISI type 316 austenitic stainless steel substrates using two different interlayer systems, namely chromium nitride and borided steel, have been investigated. In order to compare the adhesion of these films with that of a well-known and strongly adherent system, detailed adhesion tes...

Mechanical Properties of Austenitic Stainless Steel Made by Additive Manufacturing

Using uniaxial tensile and hardness testing, we evaluated the variability and anisotropy of the mechanical properties of an austenitic stainless steel, UNS S17400, manufactured by an additive process, selective laser melting. Like wrought materials, the mechanical properties depend on the orientation introduced by the processing. The recommended stress-relief heat treatment increases the tensil...

Microstructure and mechanical properties evaluation of diffusion bonded joints of titanium to AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel

In this study, diffusion bonding between titanium and AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel by Ag interlayer was investigated. In order to carry out this research, samples prepared after surface preparation were placed inside the fixture and placed at the temperatures of 750,800 and 850 °C in the 30,60 and 90 min in the furnace under argon protective gas. The phase transformation and microstructu...

Investigation of microstructures and mechanical properties of dissimilar welds between Incoloy 825 and 316 stainless steel

In this study, microstructural features and mechanical properties of Incoloy 825-316L stainless steel dissimilar joints have been investigated. For this purpose, pulsed gas tungsten arc welding method was employed and 316L, Inconel 82 and Inconel 625 alloys were used as filler metal. First, specimens were cut. Pulsed gas tungsten arc welding was performed using peak and base currents of 220 A a...
